Rawan Ghnemat
Rawan Ghnemat is an accomplished computer scientist specializing in artificial intelligence and deep learning. She earned her PhD in
Computer Science with distinction from Le Havre University, France, in 2009, supported by a French government scholarship.
Currently, Dr. Ghnemat serves as an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at Princess Sumaya University for Technology
(PSUT) in Jordan. Throughout her career, she has actively pursued research in artificial intelligence, resulting in numerous scientific
publications. Her research interests include Deep Learning, Deep Learning in Medical Imaging, Computer Vision, machine learning, and she collaborates with experts in these fields to develop
innovative solutions that positively impact society.
Dr. Ghnemat is dedicated to bridging the gap between academia and industry by designing curricula aligned with industry standards. Her
efforts have equipped students with practical skills applicable to real-world scenarios.
Dr. Ghnemat has been involved in research projects such as developing a Computer-Aided Diagnosis tool for ophthalmologists to use in
Diabetic Retinopathy routine check-ups. Her research outcomes have been recognized through several funded projects.
In June 2024, Rawan Ghnemat was honored by being elected as a Full Member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society. This
prestigious recognition is a testament to her scholarly achievements and contributions to the scientific community. As a member of Sigma Xi,
one of the oldest and largest scientific organizations globally, provides her with a platform to advance scientific research and collaboration,
furthering her impact in artificial intelligence.
